Time Required: Approximately 1–2 hours.
Bracket Installation
Step 1 – Remove accessory ready mount cover
Press the tab on the accessory-ready mount cover on the top side of the windshield frame using a plastic trim removal tool or your fingertip. Remove the cover.

Step 2 – Remove factory nuts and bracket
Using a 10mm socket, remove the two nuts and the plastic bracket.

Step 3 – Install new windshield bracket
Using the nuts removed in Step 2, install your new windshield bracket. The DD logo should face outward. Image reference shows driver side.

Step 4 – Repeat on opposite side
Repeat Steps 1–3 on the other side of the vehicle.
Lightbar Installation
Step 5 – Assemble lightbar
Assemble your SS5 lightbar using the CrossLink lightbar instructions.
Step 6 – Install lightbar onto brackets
Install the assembled SS5 lightbar onto the brackets using the provided M6 flange screws. Adjust supports as needed.

Step 7 – Adjust curvature and tighten
Adjust the lightbar to the desired curvature and tighten all screws. Ensure the rubber bumpers contact the windshield frame. While a second person applies outward tension to the bar, tighten the CrossLink supports to help mitigate vibration.
Wiring Instructions
The following instructions apply to Ford Broncos equipped with an Auxiliary Switch Bank. If your vehicle does not have the Auxiliary Switch Bank, use the included toggle switch adapter wire to route a switch.
Step 8 – Connect to auxiliary wiring
Locate the auxiliary switch wiring in the engine bay. Reference the owner’s manual in the head unit to determine which wires to use.
Since this harness draws main power directly from the battery, you may use any auxiliary wire to provide a power signal to the SS5 main beam and backlight.
Using wire strippers, remove enough insulation to make a secure connection. Insert the wire into the butt connector and crimp to secure. Repeat for the blue backlight wire.
We recommend connecting the backlight wire to footwell or engine bay auxiliary wiring.

Step 9 – Connect battery power
Connect positive and negative battery wires to the battery or to main power terminals near the fuse box.
Secure all wiring and test thoroughly.
IMPORTANT: All power sources must be properly fused.
SS5 Backlight Programming & Resync Instructions
SS5 Backlit lightbars include programmable RGB backlighting.
To Change Backlight Color:
Cycle the backlight power off and on to advance to the next color mode.
To Resynchronize Multiple SS5 Units:
- Turn the backlights on.
- Cycle through all available colors and modes.
- Continue cycling until you have completed three full color cycles.
- Leave the lights on your desired color.
Running through three full cycles forces all SS5 backlights into the same programming state.
