Important IR Safety
WARNING: Infrared output falls outside the visible-light spectrum but can still cause eye injury. Never stare directly into the operating IR pod or view it at close range through an optical device. Do not assume the IR pod is safe simply because its output is difficult to see with the naked eye.
Assembly Overview
The retail C1 Dual configuration combines two different pods in one preassembled dual bezel:
- Right side: 850nm IR SSC1, Sport power level, Wide optic
- Left side: Standard visible-light SSC1, Sport White Wide optic with a red backlight
Both sides use the same compact C1 worklight housing and molded DT-style input connector found on standard SSC1 pods. Each housing is fitted with its product-specific Wide optic: a clear Wide optic for the visible pod and an IR-filtered Wide optic for the IR pod. The wider two-pod bezel joins the housings into one assembly, while the wider dual U-bracket supports the complete assembly.
The red backlight belongs only to the visible-light pod. The IR pod does not have a red backlight. The dual bezel ships already assembled, so do not remove the pods or attempt to assemble the housings, optics, or bezel.

Installation Tools

Installation Instructions
Step 1 — Attach the wider dual bracket
Position the preassembled two-pod bezel in the wider dual U-bracket and install the supplied adjustment hardware using the same general mounting arrangement as a standard SSC1 pod. Leave the hardware slightly loose so the assembly can be aimed after mounting. The standard single-pod SSC1 bracket does not fit the wider two-pod bezel.
Step 2 — Choose a mounting location
Select a suitable mounting point that provides clearance for the wider bracket, both pods, both connectors, and both wiring pigtails. Confirm that the mounting surface and any application-specific hardware can support the assembly before drilling or fastening.
Step 3 — Secure the assembly
Attach the wider dual bracket to the selected mounting point using suitable application-specific hardware. Make sure the assembly is firmly mounted while leaving the adjustment hardware loose enough for final aiming.
Wiring Instructions
The kit includes two separate pigtails because each pod operates independently. Do not combine the pod connections unless a separate, documented control system specifically provides for that arrangement.
Step 4 — Connect the right-side IR pod
Connect one pigtail to the molded input connector on the 850nm IR pod on the right side of the assembly. The red wire controls high IR power, the black wire is ground, and the blue wire controls low IR power. These inputs replace the visible main-beam and backlight functions associated with a standard SSC1.
Step 5 — Connect the left-side visible pod
Connect the second pigtail to the molded input connector on the standard visible-light pod on the left side of the assembly. It follows normal SSC1 wiring behavior: the red wire controls white main-beam power, the black wire is ground, and the blue wire controls red backlight power.
Connect both pigtails to properly fused control circuits suitable for the installation. Route and secure the wiring away from heat, sharp edges, and moving components.
Operation and Dimming
The right-side IR pod provides separate high and low IR power modes. Both IR modes support PWM and variable-voltage dimming, allowing you to reduce the 850nm output for the environment or night vision setup. The 850nm emitter may produce a faint red glow because its wavelength is closer to the visible spectrum.
The left-side visible pod operates like a standard Sport White Wide SSC1. Its white output and red backlight operate through their normal separate inputs. The red backlight is not an IR function and does not illuminate the right-side IR pod.
Aiming Instructions
Step 6 — Aim and tighten the assembly
Adjust the dual assembly to the desired angle, checking the IR output with a compatible night vision device and the visible output under suitable conditions. Once aimed, securely tighten the bracket and adjustment hardware.
Final Operation Check
Step 7 — Verify both pods
From a safe position, confirm that the right-side pod provides high IR, low IR, and any connected IR dimming functions. Then verify the left-side pod's white output and red backlight. Check that both pigtails remain secure and that the wiring is clear of heat, sharp edges, and moving components.
