Who are we?
Diode Dynamics is a U.S. manufacturer of specialty automotive LED lighting. Founded in 2006, we develop unique products that incorporate the latest LED and optical technology, then build them our vertically-integrated production facility.
We started in a garage. As a teenager, founder Paul McCain tore into a Hyundai Tiburon and soldered in LEDs from RadioShack to light it up. That hands-on beginning shaped everything that followed. Rather than simply importing and rebranding like most of the industry, we chose the harder path: designing, engineering, and manufacturing as much as we can in America to control quality, performance, and accelerate innovation.
Today our team of more than 80 works from our 70,000-square-foot headquarters in St. Charles, Missouri, just outside of St. Louis. We run automated SMT circuit board assembly lines, environmental test chambers, a photometric lab, robotic sealing equipment, and to mark our 20-year anniversary, we have recently started optical injection molding in-house. This investment gives us full control over the custom-engineered optics that deliver best-in-class output, and opens the door to even more innovative products in the years ahead.

Whether it’s full headlamps and tail lamps, off-road pods and lightbars, replacement LED bulbs, power control devices, or vehicle-specific solutions, our goal remains the same: provide enthusiasts with performance lighting technology done the right way: built in the USA.

Diode Dynamics' Quality Management System meets the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, for the design, manufacture, and distribution of automotive lighting products. Registration is maintained by SRI Quality System Registrar (certificate available on request).

Our Team
The Diode Dynamics team is an energetic group of over 80 people, who work hard to make quality lighting, with the best service possible. We take pride in our quality products, our customer-focused service, and our work in going "against the grain" to manufacture products here in the USA.
In order to achieve the standards our customers expect, all of our staff is trained in electrical theory, 12-volt power, lighting systems, and electronics manufacturing, through a rigorous ten-week academic course. By technically understanding what we produce, we have a shared understanding of the requirements and opportunities that exist, allowing each of our employees to contribute to higher levels of quality and innovation.
As a privately-held company, we strive to provide people-focused benefits, for all levels of our staff. We keep a professional culture, but we still have fun with company events and monthly lunches, in a young and energetic workplace.

Our Facility
Diode Dynamics is based in St. Louis, Missouri. Since 2021, the company has been located in the Millstone business park, with direct access to Highway 370, and close proximity to USPS, UPS, and FedEx hubs.

Facility Tours
We offer free-of-charge walking tours of our facilities anytime during regular business hours (10-5, M-F). All ages are welcome, but no cameras or recording devices are permitted. Large groups, please call ahead.
Alternatively, we host an annual open house, where you are welcome to visit and tour our building. Please see social media for updates regarding this annual event.
