How to Install: SS6 LED Fog Light Kit on 2020-2022 Ford Super Duty

The SS6 LED Fog Light Bar Kit for the 2020-2022 Ford Super Duty allows you to mount a pair of Stage Series 6" LED light bars in place of the factory LED fog light housings. The following installation guide will provide you with step-by-step instructions for how to install the SS6 LED Fog Light Kit on your 2020-2022 Ford Super Duty. Note: This kit utilizes both factory and included hardware to mount the brackets to the vehicle.

Mounting Instructions

Step 1 - Remove Bumper Support Brace

Using a ratchet, remove the four 15mm factory bolts holding the bumper support brace.

Step 2 - Disconnect Factory Fog Lamp

Unplug the factory lamp and then remove the two wire clips from the factory lamp bracket.

Step 3 - Remove Fog Lamp

Using a ratchet, remove the four 8mm factory bolts holding the lamp to the bumper.

With the factory fog lamp now free, remove the fog lamp from the bumper.

Step 4 - Remove Factory Fog Light from Bracket

Remove the factory fog light from the factory bracket by unscrewing the four T25 Torx bolts from the back of the housing.

Step 5 - Install SS6 Bracket

Install the SS6 bracket to the factory bracket using the supplied hardware.

Step 6 - Install SS6 Light Bar

New Stage Series Lightbars include a mounting adapter bracket that allows them to work with existing mounting brackets used across current kits. This adapter ensures proper fitment without requiring a redesigned bracket.

If your kit includes this adapter, it must be installed onto the lightbar before attaching the lightbar to the main mounting brackets.

Install the included set screws in the center mounting position on both sides of the lightbar. Then, attach the adapter to the lightbar using the included Torx screws in the top and bottom mounting holes. Once the adapter is secured, use the supplied hex bolt to mount the lightbar to the main mounting bracket as normal.

Using the hardware provided with the SS6, install the SS6 light bar to the SS6 bracket firm enough to be able to adjust but not locked in place.

Step 7 - Reinstall Factory Bracket

Using the four 8mm bolts you removed in step 3, reinstall the factory bracket (with the SS6 light bar mounted) back onto the vehicle.

Step 8 - Connect Wiring

Plug the Diode Dynamics 9006 adapter into the factory wiring and then plug the DT connector into the SS6.

Connect Backlight Wire (Optional)

New Stage Series Light Bars feature an integrated amber backlight that fully illuminates the TIR optic, creating a distinctive accent appearance while improving visibility when parked, staged, or stopped on the trail.

If your light bar is equipped with the backlight function, connect the blue wire with the red male spade connector to a fused 12V source. The parking light or sidemarker circuit is commonly used so the backlight activates with your vehicle’s exterior lighting.

Use the included T-taps to make this connection:

• Position the T-tap over the selected wire.

• Use needle-nose pliers to fully seat and crimp the tap.

• Insert the red male spade connector into the T-tap until secure.

NOTE: The power source must be fused. Do not connect the backlight wire directly to the vehicle battery.

Step 9 - Install Second SS6 Lightbar

Repeat steps 1-8 to install the second SS6 light bar on the other side of the vehicle, and then check for functionality.

Step 10 - Aim SS6 Fog Lights

Aim the SS6 fog lights and then tighten the SS6 mounting bolts.

Step 11 - Reinstall Bumper

Using a ratchet, reinstall the factory bumper support brace on both sides of the vehicle using the 15mm factory bolts.
