This guide walks through the installation process for the SS5 Windshield CrossLink Light Bar Kit. Installation steps are identical for both the 2018–2026 Jeep JL Wrangler and 2020–2026 Jeep JT Gladiator.

Installation Tools
- T40 Torx bit
- Ratchet

Time Required: Approximately 1–2 hours.
Installation Instructions
Step 1 – Remove cowl bolts
On the driver side of the vehicle, remove the four factory bolts securing the cowl using a T40 Torx bit and ratchet.
Step 2 – Install spacers
Install the provided spacers onto the four bolt dimples.
- The two longer spacers install at the upper bolt locations near the windshield wiper.
- The two shorter spacers install at the lower bolt locations near the door hinge.
Step 3 – Route wiring and install bracket
Before mounting the bracket, route the wiring harness behind it. Place the windshield bracket over the spacers and secure it using the provided bolts and a T40 Torx bit.
Note: The longer bolts are used at the upper mounting points, and the shorter bolts are used at the lower mounting points.
Step 4 – Repeat on passenger side
Repeat Steps 1–3 on the passenger side of the vehicle.
Step 5 – Assemble and mount the light bar
Assemble the SS5 light bar using the included CrossLink instructions. Mount the assembled light bar onto the windshield brackets using the provided M6 hardware, leaving all fasteners slightly loose.
If installing an SS50 kit, mount the light bar using any of the three available mounting holes with the provided M6 hardware.
Wiring Instructions
These instructions apply to JL Wrangler and JT Gladiator models equipped with a factory Auxiliary Switch Bank. If your vehicle is not equipped with auxiliary switches, use the included toggle switch adapter wire. All power sources must be fused.
Step 6 – Route the harness
Route the included wiring harness through the engine bay to the light bar.
Step 7 – Connect main beam power
Locate one of the four auxiliary switch power wires near the battery. Strip a small section of insulation, insert the yellow wire into the butt connector, and crimp securely.
Step 8 – Connect backlight power
Repeat the process for the blue backlight wire. If another Stage Series backlit product is already installed, the backlight wire may be tapped into the same switch.
Step 9 – Connect ground and test
Connect the ground wire to a factory grounding point. Test all functions before proceeding.
Step 10 – Final adjustment
Adjust and aim the light bar. Ensure the rubber bumpers on the CrossLink supports contact the windshield frame. While a second person pulls outward on the bar to create tension, tighten the CrossLink supports to help mitigate vibration. Secure all wiring and tighten all hardware.
Backlight Programming
SS5 LED light bars feature a selectable backlight color with eight available options: White (default), Red, Blue, Green, Magenta, Yellow, Amber, and Cyan.
To program the backlight color:
- Start with all power turned off.
- Cycle the backlight power on and off three times quickly within three seconds.
- Continue cycling power until the desired color appears.
- Leave the selected color on for five seconds to save.
Note: If multiple SS5 pods are linked together and colors become out of sync, follow the color reset procedure outlined in the official installation guide.
