This guide walks through the installation process for the Stage Series Backlit Ditch Light Kit, including bracket installation, pod mounting, wiring, and final aiming. Installation steps are the same for both vehicle platforms.

Installation Tools
- 12mm socket
- Ratchet and extension
- 4mm Allen key
Time Required: Approximately 1–2 hours.
Installation Instructions
Step 1 – Remove factory hood hinge bolts
Open the hood and locate the hood hinge mounting bolts on both sides of the vehicle. Using a 12mm socket, remove the two factory bolts on one side while supporting the hood.
Note: Only remove one side at a time to maintain hood alignment.
Step 2 – Install the ditch light bracket
Place the Diode Dynamics ditch light bracket onto the hood hinge, aligning the holes with the factory mounting points. Reinstall the factory bolts and hand-tighten initially.
Step 3 – Tighten hood hinge hardware
Once the bracket is properly aligned, tighten the factory hood hinge bolts securely. Repeat Steps 1–3 on the opposite side of the vehicle.
Step 4 – Mount the Stage Series pods
Using the included hardware, mount the Stage Series LED pods to the ditch light brackets. Leave the mounting hardware slightly loose to allow for final aiming adjustments.
Step 5 – Route and connect wiring
Route the main power wiring through the engine bay, securing it away from hot or moving components. Connect the main beam wiring using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness or equivalent fused power source.
If equipped with backlight functionality, connect the backlight wire to a low-current circuit such as parking lights or DRLs.
Aiming Instructions
Step 6 – Aim the ditch lights
With the vehicle parked on level ground, adjust the angle of the LED pods so the beam pattern provides optimal forward and peripheral illumination without excessive glare.
Once aimed, fully tighten the pod mounting hardware to complete the installation.
