Installation Tools
- Trim removal tool or flat-head screwdriver
- 13mm socket
- Ratchet and extension
- 4mm Allen key (for pod mounting)
Time Required: Approximately 1–2 hours.
Installation Instructions
Step 1 – Remove washer line clip
Open the hood. Using a trim removal tool or flat-head screwdriver, remove the windshield washer line clip on the passenger-side hood hinge. Move the washer line away from the hood studs.
Step 2 – Mark hood hinge location
Mark the location of the hood hinges with tape to preserve alignment. Apply tape along the edges of the hood to prevent scratching during installation.
Step 3 – Loosen hood hinge bolts
Using a 13mm socket, loosen the two bolts securing the hood hinge while supporting the hood. Work on one side of the vehicle at a time to minimize hood movement.
Step 4 – Install the ditch light bracket
Slide the ditch light bracket under the hood hinge and align the holes with the factory mounting points. Adjust the bracket to leave a slight gap at the back of the hood before tightening.
Important: Install the brackets as far outboard as possible (hood studs fully into the slots) to ensure the windshield wipers do not contact the brackets during operation.
Step 5 – Secure the hood hinge and bracket
Tighten the factory hood hinge bolts while ensuring the hinge lines up with the tape marks. Remove the tape and repeat Steps 1–5 on the opposite side of the vehicle.
Step 6 – Route wiring
Use the secondary slot in the bracket to route the wiring harness. Secure the wiring with the included zip ties, ensuring the washer line and wiring do not contact the plastic cowl when the hood is closed.
Step 7 – Mount the LED pods
Once the brackets are installed, refer to the Universal Bracket Info/Mounting Guide to mount the Stage Series LED pods onto the brackets. Leave mounting hardware slightly loose for final aiming.
Important Fitment Notes
- The hood must not be opened while the windshield wipers are running.
- Verify the hood closes fully and latches properly before operating the vehicle.
- Confirm windshield wipers do not contact the ditch light brackets during operation.
- Do not use automatic car washes with this kit installed.
