Overland Expo Pacific Northwest 2023 was a successful event that drew over 17,000 adventurers from around the world. It was an educational eutopia for Overlanding enthusiasts of all skill levels. There were plenty of opportunities to learn with over 130 presenters, trainers, and instructors who provided a total of 465 hours of instruction during the event.
There were also 395 registered exhibitors present to help inspire and outfit attendees with the latest in Overlanding gear. Diode Dynamics was pleased to be one of those exhibitors. They were excited to take part in the atmosphere and inform attendees about Stage Series LED Off-Road Lights.
The team brought the mobile showroom along, to give eventgoers some shade and the best experience. While there, they learned about how our LED Off-Road Lights work, and how they could make their Overlanding builds more capable once the sun sets on their off-road adventures.

Being able to display Stage Series LED Off-Road Lights in real-time was a huge benefit to bringing the mobile showroom to Overland Expo Pacific Northwest 2023. Allowing attendees a first-hand look at the lighting solutions and backlight capabilities that many of the lights feature, demonstrates how they provide functional light and unique customization that could make their beloved builds stand out.
While seeing displays is a great way to experience our LED off-road lights, it really helps to see the Stage Series LED lights installed on an Overlanding rig. That's why it was great to have @evergreen_rnr and his 5th-gen Toyota 4runner as a featured build!
Stage Series 30" LED Light Bar
This Toyota 4Runner is exceptionally outfitted with Stage Series LED Off-Road Lights. To begin with, there is a single-row amber-colored Stage Series 30" LED Light Bar. Its narrow profile allows the high-intensity light bar to fit neatly into the aftermarket overlanding bumper.
SS5 CrossLink LED Light Bar
While the light bar in the front bumper is more of a "stealth" approach to adding LED off-road lights to a build, mounting an SS5 CrossLink 7-Pod LED Light Bar is as "off-road style" as it gets. The CrossLink LED Light Bar is made up of seven individual SS5 LED Light Pods. Each of those pods feature the highest output intensity of any 5-inch LED Pod on the market. Combined, they provide unmistakably powerful off-road lighting that give this 4Runner plenty of visibility wherever the overlanding adventure takes it.
Additionally, the selectable backlight color feature of the SS5 CrossLink Light Bar adds a unique ability to customize the look of this Overlanding 4Runner. When not using the main beam, you can easily choose between eight different color options that are perfect for stylish accent lighting and extra visibility.
SS3 LED Ditch Lights
The Stage Series Backlit Ditch Light Kit provides excellent light output to illuminate the sides of the trails and the area around the front of this build. These A-pillar mounted lights are especially useful when they are paired with the SS5 CrossLink light bar to light both downrange and closer to the 4Runner. This makes it easy to spot hazards long before you get to them and before they cross in front of you.
They also add stylish accent lighting that can match the SS5 CrossLink LED Light Bar's amber backlight display to really catch fellow Overlander's eyes.
SS3 LED Fog Lights
The SS3 LED Fog Light Kit for this 2016 Toyota 4Runner was designed to replace the factory fog light assembly. It maintains a clean, factory-style appearance while delivering the upgraded LED off-road light performance overlanders are looking for. Even better, the SS3 LED fog light kit is SAE-compliant, so you can use it to cut through inclement weather while on the road during daily driving trips.
Here, it is shown using the backlight feature of the SS3 LED pod to create a uniform amber backlight with the rest of the LED Pods. The amber contrasts with the red paint of the 4Runner and really makes it stand out.
SSC2 and C1R LED Off-Road Lights
This Toyota 4Runner also had upgraded rear lighting. Within the aftermarket overlanding bumper is a flush-mounted Stage Series LED Reverse Light Kit. This kit utilizes two SSC2 LED Off-Road Lights that add an exceptional amount of additional reverse lighting giving you confidence in seeing what's behind you as your backup in those dark environments. They also provide a bright red backlight feature that serves as an excellent additional running light for extra visibility while traveling at night.
The rear-facing lighting upgrades of this beefy 4Runner rig are completed with our popular HitchMount LED Pod Reverse Light Kit. This kit allows you to mount an SSC1 or C1R LED pod in the Toyota 4Runner's trailer hitch receiver. In true overlanding, fashion this makes the most of the space when it isn't in use for towing by adding an extra running light and powerful reverse light. The C1R HitchMount LED Pod Reverse Light also features an optional 4th brake light, providing useful on-road functionality.
Stage Series Rock Lights
Finally, @evergreen_rnr's 2016 Toyota 4Runner build showcased the perfect solution to add light underneath the build when it is off-road. Stage Series LED Rock Lights couple their 1000 lumens of peak output with their compact size and endless mounting solutions to bring useful functional lighting to any off-roader. Whether they are mounted in the wheel well, on a roof rack, or above the skid plate as shown here, Stage Series LED Rock Lights add the light you need for rock crawling or simple campsite lighting.
Conclusion
It was great to be able to exhibit at Overland Expo PNW 2023 and to engage with enthusiasts in their passion for Overlanding. Taking the time to listen to their questions and suggesting Stage Series LED Off-Road Light applications for their rigs was a great way to support the community.
Being able to show attendees working displays in the mobile showroom and on an incredible Toyota 4Runner build from @evergreen_rnr was a highlight for us.
