Elite LED Headlights for the 2021-2023 Ford F-150 were designed for maximum performance and functionality. They include a programmable welcome sequence, daytime running lights, and turn signals. Elite Max headlights also feature High Beam Boost, Low Beam Assist, show mode, and off-road lighting capabilities.
This programming guide provides instructions for programming Elite and Elite Max LED Headlights on the 2021-2023 Ford F-150. These instructions apply to both factory projector and non-projector headlight configurations. Read the Programming Tips before beginning, then continue below for step-by-step instructions!

Programming Tips
- Parking in front of a window or reflective wall makes it easier to see the programming feedback from the headlights.
- Each programming mode follows a similar process. After completing one or two settings, the method should become familiar.
- Always begin with the vehicle off and the headlight switch in the OFF position. The exterior lights may remain illuminated for 10-15 seconds after you enter or exit the truck. Wait until all lights have turned off before beginning.
- To enter a programming mode, you must toggle the lights off and back on a specific number of times. If you lose count, switch the lights off, wait 10 seconds, and start again.
- Some programming modes use the high-beam stalk to cycle through options. Due to the factory high-beam functionality, the high beams may remain on after you reach the desired configuration, even after switching the headlight dial to OFF. If this occurs, wait 10-15 seconds for the high beams to turn off automatically. Do not attempt to turn them off with the stalk, or the configuration may not save properly.

DRL Color and Style Programming
Step 1 — Turn all lights off, including the off-road switch, if applicable.
Step 2 — Quickly toggle the headlight dial between OFF and PARK three times, leaving it in PARK after the third toggle.
Step 3 — The DRL will flash three times to indicate that programming mode 3 has been activated. The headlights will then display the current configuration.
Step 4 — Use the high-beam stalk to cycle through the available DRL styles. Each time you advance to the next option, the DRL will flash three times and then display the selected configuration.
Step 5 — When you reach the desired DRL style, turn the headlight dial to OFF. If the high beams remain on, wait 10-15 seconds for them to turn off automatically. Once all lights have turned off, the configuration is saved and programming mode is closed. Repeat this process whenever you want to select a different configuration.
Turn Signal Style Programming
Step 1 — Turn all lights off, including the off-road switch, if applicable.
Step 2 — Quickly toggle the headlight dial between OFF and PARK four times, leaving it in PARK after the fourth toggle.
Step 3 — The DRL will flash four times to indicate that programming mode 4 has been activated. The headlights will then display the current configuration.
Step 4 — Use the high-beam stalk to cycle through the available turn-signal styles. Each time you advance to the next option, the DRL will flash three times and then begin flashing in the selected style.
Note: For styles 2 and 3, the outer DRL does not flash with the turn signal. Instead, the outer DRL dims during daytime operation while the turn signal is active.
Step 5 — When you reach the desired turn-signal style, turn the headlight dial to OFF. If the high beams remain on, wait 10-15 seconds for them to turn off automatically. Once all lights have turned off, the configuration is saved and programming mode is closed. Repeat this process whenever you want to select a different configuration.
Welcome Sequence On or Off Programming
Step 1 — Turn all lights off, including the off-road switch, if applicable.
Step 2 — Quickly toggle the headlight dial between OFF and PARK five times, leaving it in PARK after the fifth toggle.
Step 3 — The DRL will flash five times to indicate that programming mode 5 has been activated. The headlights will then display the current configuration.
Step 4 — Use the high-beam stalk to turn the welcome sequence on or off. The welcome sequence is enabled by default. The DRL will flash five times to indicate the change. If the sequence is set to ON, the animation will run to confirm the selection. If it is set to OFF, the parking lights will illuminate without animation.
Step 5 — When you reach the desired setting, turn the headlight dial to OFF. If the high beams remain on, wait 10-15 seconds for them to turn off automatically. Once all lights have turned off, the configuration is saved and programming mode is closed. Repeat this process whenever you want to change the setting.
Welcome Sequence Operation: If the truck has been off long enough to enter sleep mode, pressing Unlock by itself may not activate the welcome sequence. Press Lock and then Unlock to wake the truck and trigger the sequence. Once the truck is awake, the welcome sequence will activate each time the Unlock button on the key fob is pressed.
High Beam Boost Programming (Elite Max Only)
High Beam Boost is a supplemental high beam that can be configured to activate whenever the factory high beams are turned on. Check all applicable state and local laws before enabling this feature.
Step 1 — Turn all lights off, including the off-road switch.
Step 2 — Quickly toggle the headlight dial between OFF and PARK six times, leaving it in PARK after the sixth toggle.
Step 3 — The DRL will flash six times to indicate that programming mode 6 has been activated. The headlights will then display the current configuration.
Step 4 — Use the high-beam stalk to turn High Beam Boost on or off. This feature is disabled by default. The DRL will flash six times to indicate the change, and the High Beam Boost LED pod will turn on or off to display the selected setting.
Step 5 — When you reach the desired setting, turn the headlight dial to OFF. If the high beams remain on, wait 10-15 seconds for them to turn off automatically. Once all lights have turned off, the configuration is saved and programming mode is closed. Repeat this process whenever you want to change the setting.
Low Beam Assist Programming (Elite Max Only)
Low Beam Assist is a supplemental low beam that adds width to the low-beam pattern. It can be configured to remain on with the low beams, activate automatically while turning, or remain off based on your desired light output.
Note: The cornering setting activates Low Beam Assist based on steering angle on mid- and premium-trim vehicles or based on turn-signal activation on base-trim vehicles.
Step 1 — Turn all lights off, including the off-road switch.
Step 2 — Quickly toggle the headlight dial between OFF and PARK seven times, leaving it in PARK after the seventh toggle.
Step 3 — The DRL will flash seven times to indicate that programming mode 7 has been activated. The headlights will then display the current configuration.
Step 4 — Use the high-beam stalk to change the setting. Low Beam Assist is configured to remain on with the low beams by default. The DRL will flash seven times to indicate the change and then display the feedback shown below for the selected setting.
Step 5 — When you reach the desired setting, turn the headlight dial to OFF. If the high beams remain on, wait 10-15 seconds for them to turn off automatically. Once all lights have turned off, the configuration is saved and programming mode is closed. Repeat this process whenever you want to change the setting.
Show Mode Programming (Elite Max Only)
Step 1 — Turn on the off-road switch.
Step 2 — Quickly toggle the headlight dial between OFF and PARK three times, leaving it in PARK after the third toggle.
Step 3 — Show mode will begin. It will always start by displaying the welcome sequence on a continuous loop.
Step 4 — Use the high-beam stalk to cycle through the available show mode options.
Step 5 — To exit show mode, turn off the off-road switch.
Factory Reset
If you experience unexpected behavior with the headlight functions or settings, complete the factory reset sequence and then reprogram the headlights as desired.
Step 1 — Turn all lights off, including the off-road switch, if applicable.
Step 2 — Quickly toggle the headlight dial between OFF and PARK fifteen times, leaving it in the OFF position after the final toggle.
Step 3 — The turn-signal bars will flash white twice and then amber twice to indicate a successful factory reset.
Step 4 — Turn all lights off, then complete any desired programming procedures again.
