How to Cut the Blockoff Panel for Mustang GT Fog Light Installation

If you're installing the Diode Dynamics Add-On Fog Light Kit for the 2024+ Ford Mustang GT, you may want to reinstall the factory backing plate after installation. This is not a necessary step, but may be completed if you would like to reinstall this part. To do so, the panel must be trimmed using our printable cut template to allow clearance for the new fog lamp. This guide walks you through the cutting process to ensure a perfect fit.

NOTE: Be sure to print the document at 100% scale. Do not use any scaling or "fit to page" settings. Double-check the accuracy by measuring the 5-inch printed reference line before cutting.

Tools Needed

• Scissors
• Cutting device (e.g. rotary tool or utility knife)
• 7mm socket
• OEM screws (from original panel)
• Protective gloves and eye protection

Cutting Instructions

1. Print the template PDF on standard 8.5x11" paper at 100% scale.
2. Verify the scale is correct by measuring the 5-inch reference bar printed at the top of the page.
3. Use scissors to cut out the outline of the template along the "cut along this line" borders.
4. Place the paper template over your OEM blockoff panel and align the shape carefully to match the mounting points and contour.
5. Use your preferred cutting tool to trim the plastic panel along the curved edge as marked on the template.
6. Install the modified blockoff panel onto the Diode Dynamics fog lamp bracket using a 7mm socket and the original OEM screws.
