When it comes to adding some personality to your vehicle with custom automotive lighting, nothing beats adding demon eyes. These unique LED accents are designed to provide a custom modern look by producing full-color lighting using your vehicle’s existing projector-style headlights. At Diode Dynamics, our Pro-Series Demon Eyes offer the largest spectrum of colors for your headlights on the market.

Since Diode Dynamics was first founded in 2006, we have been dedicated to offering our customers the best automotive LED products for their vehicles. Now, after a decade of growth, we are proud to be one of the only American manufacturers of automotive LED products. Our team in St. Louis designs and manufactures our lighting products using the latest LED technology and advanced designs to offer products that perform better than anything else on the market. We took this drive to make the best products possible and put it into every facet of our demon eyes.

Our team of in house engineers helps us create new innovations for our products. Whenever we decide to offer a new automotive lighting option, our engineers find areas where the current market options fail and try to discover new ways to create a more innovative option.  Light-emitting diodes are still evolving and Diode Dynamics is here to combine the latest technology with effective and intuitive designs for our customers. Our demon eyes are just one example of how we have taken a popular LED technology and made it better.

So what exactly is a demon eye? Simply put, demon eyes are accent LEDs used to add full multicolor functionality to your car’s existing headlight assembly. In order to use these lights on your vehicle, you need to have projector-style headlights or fog lights. Projector housings feature reflective material, just like a standard reflector headlight assembly, and they also use a lens to magnify the light and keep your headlights or fog lights focused on the road ahead. This style of light used to only be found on luxury vehicles, but they are becoming more and more common because they illuminate the road with a crisp cutoff.

We recommend using demon eyes in projector housings because they are designed to use the projector lens to magnify the colored light they emit. By mounting the demon eye on the edge of the lens, the color is able to spread through the entire lens without affecting the lens’s ability to magnify the light from your factory bulbs. These lights are not intended for on-road use, they are designed to be used as an accent when at car shows or events.

We are proud to offer unique products, like demon eyes, that will make your vehicle stand out from the crowd.  By producing a full range of bright colors, these LEDs are perfect for achieving that custom look you’ve been after. Demon eyes from other companies only use a total of 6 watts of power. Here at Diode Dynamics, our Pro Series Demon Eyes use 18 watts of LEDs per board to provide the bright output you need when you’re showing off your car. This makes our LEDs bright enough to be visible even in broad daylight.

Most demon eyes on the market are not only underpowered, but they are also designed only using RGB LEDs. This means each demon eye uses only red, green, and blue LEDs. Unlike the logic of mixing paint, mixing light is done using these three colors. These colors can be combined to form nearly any color. They can even be combined to form white, though they can never create a true white color. The result is a poorly integrated white color.

Our Diode Dynamics Pro Series Demon Eyes use RGBW LEDs. These LEDs use the same three colors as a standard demon eye, but they also use an independent white LED chip. The addition of a white LED chip not only means that our lights can create a true white light, but it also allows for a greater range of colors to be created. Using RGBW color mixing will give your headlights a depth of color that RGB lights just cannot approach.

If you want your demon eyes to function as intended, you need an LED driver that can perform. The driver is the device that communicates between your controller and the LEDs. Most companies will use simple resistors and linear regulators to create minimalist drivers. While this might get the job done, the rate of failure on these systems is high. Sudden spikes in voltage and other electrical issues can easily destroy these simple drivers.

When we started designing our demon eyes, we decided to design our drivers from the ground up. We started our drivers with four constant-current inductive circuits to offer incredible performance. We also added shutoff overdrive protection so you will not have to worry about electrical issues frying your lights. Finally, the drivers are potted in an aluminum housing to ensure a long and reliable working life. These drivers are designed to perform for years without issue, while still being easy to connect.

Each set of demon eyes come with brackets that can mount our lights onto any H1 style projector lens. If you are custom mounting your new Pro Series Demon Eyes, we do recommend having a professional install them. The installation process does require opening the headlight or fog light assembly and this process can be difficult. Unless you have experience installing these kinds of products, we have to stress the importance of professional installation. Improper installation can lead to moisture intrusion and product failure.

In order to use your new demon eyes, you will need to connect them to a controller. If you need an RGBW controller for your new demon eyes, you can order one when you order your LEDs. We manufacture the only RGBW controller designed specifically for automotive LED lighting. Our RGBW Bluetooth controller is designed to work with a variety of 12-volt automotive power systems and can handle up to 3A of output per channel.

The next step is to connect the shut out wire for the demon eyes. We recommend tapping your vehicle’s low beams. This will prevent the demon eyes from turning on while you are driving. This prevents you from using these lights on the road. You can hook up to four devices to a single controller, with that controller working on all four devices simultaneously. If you want to control devices separately, you will need to use multiple controllers.

Once your Diode Dynamics RGBW Bluetooth controller is wired up, connect to and control your demon eyes with our free Diode Dynamics app. Our app is available for Apple and Android devices and can be accessed from any tablet or smartphone within range of the controller. Once you have the app installed, you can control the color of your lights in seconds.

Our Bluetooth controller app gives you complete control over your lights and allows you to perform a number of custom actions. You can choose to control multiple controllers at once as a group or control them separately. It should be noted that multiple devices on a single controller will only be adjustable as a group on the app. You can also use this app and our controller to power RGB lighting, though you will not be able to use the true white option.

With this app, you can choose from thousands of color options using the app’s touch color wheel to find the perfect shade for any moment. For a more stock look, you can also use the true white center button to activate only the white LEDs. If you find a few colors you enjoy, you can save your favorites by clicking the small icons below the color wheel for quick and easy access. You can also use your phone’s camera through the app to choose select colors from your environment and our app will mimic those colors through your lights. For example, you could point your camera at your yellow shirt, select that color, and your lights will match that shade of yellow.

The app also comes with several pre-loaded patterns so you can choose the perfect option to show off your lights. If you want to create your own patterns, you can combine sequences of strobes, jumps, and fades and save your new pattern for future use. You can alter the brightness and speed of all patterns to create the perfect look every time. If you are hanging out and enjoying some music, you can even run the app in the background to pick up on any sounds your phone’s microphone can hear and pulse your accent lights to the beat. By controlling the sensitivity of the mic, you can choose the intensity of the strobe.

For any of our customers who drive a 2015-2017 Ford Mustang, we offer a custom no-bake LED demon eye kit that makes adding these lights to your Mustang easier than ever. Each of these kits includes two Pro Series Demon Eyes, one Bluetooth RGBW controller, two custom Ford Mustang Demon Eye brackets, T-Taps, and a Dual Input Module. This kit makes the installation process on your Mustang quick and easy. Unlike a typical installation, you will not need to open up the headlamps. The headlamps will still need to be removed from the vehicle, but the process of installing the brackets should only take a few minutes per side using the custom mounting brackets.

This kit will only fit 2015, 2016, and 2017 models. You can also use this kit on select newer Shelby models that utilize the 2017 headlamp design. While this kit makes the process much easier with the custom brackets, our demon eyes can be mounted by a professional to any projector-style headlamps. The beauty of these lights is their ability to give any vehicle a custom look that you will love showing off.

So if you are ready to set your vehicle apart from the crowd, a set of our Diode Dynamics Pro Series Demon Eyes is the perfect option. These accent lights are the perfect way to add a little extra flair when you are showing off your car. Combined with the features on our app, you are sure to be turning heads wherever you park.
