From the factory, turn signal bulbs are powered by standard incandescent lights that light up amber in color.

Newer luxury vehicles are using LEDs for turn signals, because LEDs offer a crisp, instant on/off, increased brightness, and true, vibrant color. By replacing the bulbs in your vehicle, you can achieve this modern look!

The installation is 100% plug-and-play, just replace your factory bulb. The bulb may blink faster since it uses less power, and your vehicle thinks the bulb is out- to fix this, please see "hyperblinking" section below.

HP48: This bulb is non-polar, CK compatible, with 48 Epistar 3014 LED chips. Thanks to the cap on the top, the light from this High Power Bulb is shined backwards and away from the bulb, not straight out. This means the output is excellent, because it uses the vehicle's housing completely, which then shines the light much more uniformly.

HP11: Four side-firing 1.5W-rated Osram LED chips, and one 5W-rated LED chip on top, which is projected by a lens for maximum effective brightness. The bulb is housed in a machined aluminum casing, which provides superior heat diffusion for long life.

XP80: Each of the four sides of this bulb contains three 5W-rated chips, and the top is fitted with four more under a projector lens. This is the brightest self-contained automotive LED bulb on the market, and is housed in an aluminum casing with a textured finish for maximum heatsinking properties.

Fitment. All three bulbs use a quality inject-molded 7440 terminal, with a standard base connector and proper pin alignment, designed for exact replacement of your factory 7440 bulb.

Included in your order is TWO BULBS.

These LEDs illuminate in a crisp, bright, amber hue.

Diode Dynamics only list amber bulbs for the front turn signal. This is because other colors, such as white and red, are not legal for front turn signal use. Please view other pages for other colors and applications.

Diode Dynamics offers several brightness options so you can choose what fits you best.  These options are listed by the design and the lumen output of each bulb:

HP48: Slightly lower brightness than OEM bulbs, but still provides the crisp, modern instant on/off of LED technology.
HP11: Slightly higher brightness than OEM bulbs.
XP80: Much brighter than OEM bulbs. These are bright!

Lumens: BUYER BEWARE! Most sellers just provide "calculated" lumen numbers, based on the maximum potential brightness of the LED chips on the bulb. For example, if a bulb has five 10-lumen chips, they will rate it at 50 lumens. However, this is not accurate, as the design of an LED bulb does not get rid of heat fast enough to run the LEDs at maximum.

These "calculated" lumen ratings are much, much higher than the true, measured light output, so it will look like competitors' bulbs are brighter than ours. This is because Diode Dynamics does not provide inflated "calculated" numbers; we believe it is misleading. We test the actual brightness of the bulbs in our lab, to provide real lumen output measurements. Our measurements are accurate, but they are usually much lower than the misleading "calculated" figures. Please click here to learn more about LED brightness measurement.

LED Components. Diode Dynamics uses only the highest quality LED chips in the production of its bulbs. This means we use only brand-name suppliers such as Epistar, Cree, Osram, and Samsung.

While Diode Dynamics bulbs may look the same as others on the market, most copycat bulbs use economy-grade LED chips in order to reduce costs. This greatly reduces the reliability and overall brightness of the bulb when you compare it to Diode Dynamics.

Construction. Although LED technology allows for extremely long bulb life, the market is flooded with cheap LED bulbs that fail prematurely due to inferior construction. The worst enemy of LEDs is excessive heat, and when bulbs are not designed properly, they do not disperse heat as well, leading to premature failure.

Off-brand, cheap bulbs exhibit poor solder uniformity, high levels of flux in the solder, uneven chip placement, low-gauge terminal wires, poor assembly, and bulbs held together with inferior adhesives. At best, solder joints will crack and fail on low-quality LEDs after a few weeks of use. In the worst case, these bulbs can damage housings as the extra flux and adhesive evaporates and creates a residue on the lens of the housing.

Diode Dynamics bulbs are produced with modern, computerized equipment, and only the best materials, to ensure complete uniformity, high quality, and long bulb life.

All Diode Dynamics products come with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee and a 3-year limited replacement warranty. For more information, please view the Warranty Information page.

The turn signals on most vehicles will begin to blink fast (hyperblink) when LED bulbs are installed. This is because the new LEDs will use less power than the original bulbs, so your vehicle thinks that the bulb is out and warns you by hyperblinking.

This phenomenon will be the same for every LED bulb on the market- there is no such thing as a "no hyperblink" LED bulb, even though some companies advertise them as such.

Flasher Replacement: Replacing the flasher relay, the module that controls blinking speed, is the easiest option to correct hyperblinking. You can remove the flasher on your vehicle, which is a small relay module under the dash, and replace it with a new flasher designed for LEDs. You will only need one flasher for your vehicle, whether you are replacing just one pair or both sets of turn signal bulbs (front/rear).

Resistor Kit: If you prefer not to change the flasher, you can add resistors to the bulb's circuit, and mimic the power consumption of the original bulb, returning the vehicle to normal turn signal speed. Resistors are a universal fix for any vehicle. Diode Dynamics resistors are 50W, 6 ohm, and come with extra-long connection wires for easy install. If you have both front and rear LED turn signals, you should purchase one set for each pair, to create enough resistance for the whole turn signal circuit. The installation itself takes only 10-15 minutes, and involves making two simple connections. Everything you need is included in the kit.

  1. Great lights Review by Justin

These are great lights. I have the HP11 310 lumens bulbs. Like others, I modified the yellow housing by simply wrapping a few layers of black electrical tape around the base housing, and it eliminates the reflective yellow. They are really crisp and have a great amber, slightly more orange than OEM that is perfect, and these seemed OEM or slightly brighter than OEM. (Posted on 5/26/16)

  2. Great compliment to projector headlights, with a minor gripe Review by Knives

These HP11's look far better inside the BRZ oem headlight housing than an amber incandescent bulb. However as a couple of other reviewers noted, the yellow base does protrude into the reflector just enough to see. That throws off the super-sleek look a tiny bit, but the unit is otherwise quite stunning. And, of course, light output is very crisp and bright!! I think I'll just pull these out real quick to wrap the offending yellow edge in foil tape and achieve true perfection... (Posted on 3/19/16)

  3. Excellent Amber LED Units. Review by K

I purchased my XP80 Amber LED units back in January 2015. They come with yellow bases so what I did was to use a black permanent market to mask the yellow bases so they do not reflect the color when the headlights are seen directly from the front. Coloring/Masking your yellow base of the LED units will give you that minor but clear reflection in the headlight housing.

Let me tell you what though- these Amber LED units are of very high quality as you can tell when you pull them out of the packaging and feel them with your hands. They are not cheap, but they are made of high quality with good projection of light like they are supposed to offer (Advantage and characteristics of LED units).

With the projector lens up front, this LED units will reflect the light not just straight forward, but to the sides as well. Used with a flash relay you can purchase from Diode Dynamics or any others in the market, the LED units will provide the crisp and bright front turn signals anywhere, all the time.

I daily drive my car whether it's hot or cold, and these LED units are still one of my best investments so far.

My love for LEDs will never fade off until one day Diode Dynamics starts to make high-tech laser units! hahah (Posted on 3/18/16)

  4. Almost Perfect Review by Sammy

The install was tricky since the size of the bulbs were large. I had to finesse the bulbs into the housing. I bought the XP80 so the bulbs are bright, but they are bright in a certain way. You can see the turn signal from a greater distance, but they are not harsh type of bright. The LEDs meant crisp blinking. The only gripe I have is the bulbs have a yellow housing and you can notice the yellow if you pay attention. (Posted on 2/27/16)

  5. Great upgrade cleans up the look of the car Review by John

This was so simple to install and makes a huge difference in the look of the front lights. No yellow from the amber bulb, give the lights a real clean look. (Posted on 10/5/15)

  6. Clearer, sharper & easy to install Review by Don

Added xp11 front turn signals to brz. Very easy to install and substantial enhancement to appearance of turn signal (Posted on 12/8/14)

  7. Great bulbs. Work fine. Just one minor nitpick. Review by Jeremy

I purchased the XP80 bulbs. They are described as "much brighter than stock" but while the bulb itself might be brighter than your stock bulb, the actual brightness once installed will depend a lot on your reflector. LED bulbs throw light differently than the stock bulbs.

In the case of the XP80, it is brighter than the stock bulbs from indirect angles, both in front and in rear. This is great. If you are DIRECTLY behind, or in front of the car, they are actually very slightly dimmer than the OEM bulb. However, the OEM bulb "fades" on and off, and it is only at its peak brightness that it is brighter. The LEDs are instant on/off at full brightness, so one could argue that the LED bulbs are brighter than the stock bulb for "more of the time" that they are on. Also, the instant on/off catches the eye more readily, so overall these are more visible, in my opinion, than the stock bulbs, as far as getting attention.

My only gripe with these bulbs is that the base of the bulb is yellow plastic. It should be white, or - ideally - silver. This would allow the bulb to more or less disappear in the housing when it is off, but the bright yellow base still allows for some coloration when the bulb is off. In addition, the bright yellow color is uglier than the deep amber color of the stock bulbs when off. But this is just personal preference, and only a minor gripe. It obviously doesn't affect functionality at all. Just something that maybe they will change in the future to make the install look a bit better.

Oh, and on the BRZ, installing these in the rear is a bit cumbersome. These are taller than OEM bulbs... enough so that if you put them into the harness, the harness doesn't actually have enough slack for you to get it far enough away to swing the end of the bulb around and into the hole. In my case, I ended up partially inserting the LEDs into the tail light, and THEN connecting them to the harness, being very careful not to accidentally drop the bulb into the tail-lamp housing. 8. Perfect Review by Nick

Install was very easy. Adds a great modern look to your vehicle. Amazing product, highly recommended!! (Posted on 11/25/14)

  9. Great product that really improves the look of your car Review by Seabrz

I have aftermarket tail lights and I believe that having an LED flasher relay with LED tails and non-LED front turns put a strain on my relay. I ordered these and I am very happy with them. No more out of place yellow bulbs. My front looks much cleaner, and the turn signal doesn't have the glowing effect that it used. Good product! (Posted on 10/1/14)

  10. HP11 Review by Alex C.

I ordered the HP11 (Stage 2) as I wanted to get rid of the orange look. After installing these, I noticed that one of the bulbs were brighter than the other. They were not obvious at first but it is definitely noticeable. I then requested an RMA and they sent me another pair of bulbs. Again, one of the bulbs are brighter than the other. I tried on both sides of the housing to make sure it wasn't an issue with the car's socket. I ended up going with two of the brighter bulbs and returned the two that were not so bright. Installation wasn't too hard, if you look around for tutorials. These bulbs are white, but the base has some yellow to it. If you look closely after installation, you could still see some of the yellow parts in the housing, but it is definitely better than the stock look. Definitely plan on getting the flasher if you have LEDs for your turn signals to avoid hyperblinking. (Posted on 9/13/14)

  11. Great upgrade to turn signals Review by MikeBRZ

Along with LED rear turn signals, I bought these lights to refine the look of the BRZ. When off, these lights certainly improve the front-end cosmetics compared to the orange globes that come stock on the BRZ. Most important, to me, was the instant on/off look of the turn signal with these LEDs compared to the glow of the stock lights. Definitely buy the flasher when upgrading turn lights to prevent yourself from messing with engine compartment wiring. These lights are very easy to install. I bought lights with the second-tier intensity, and they are perfectly clear and bright without blinding anyone. I would definitely recommend these lights as a great upgrade for the BRZ.
