This is a replacement turn signal flasher module. It will eliminate fast turn signal blinking, known as hyperblinking, that occurs when you replace your turn signal bulbs with LEDs. It has been designed specifically for use with LEDs.

This module is specifically for your vehicle! It will be 100% plug and play. Just remove the factory flasher, and plug this one in.

SmartTap™ Flasher Relay

The SmartTap™ is a replacement turn signal flasher module that adds adjustable one-touch signaling and programmable hazard modes. Programming each mode is simple with the help of the included programming guide and the use of existing vehicle controls.

Tap-to-Signal: One-touch signaling is a convenient way to signal to other drivers when switching lanes. Simply tap the turn signal for a series of signal blinks.

Arrival and Departure Modes: When the lock or unlock button is pressed, the surrounding area will illuminate for better visibility when approaching or leaving the vehicle at night. The lighting time can be adjusted from 10-90 seconds for additional illumination, or disabled if desired.

Unique Hazard Functions: The SmartTap™ has built-in strobe, slo-mo and wig-wag hazard functions to help the vehicle stand out when the hazards are on. Apply these functions on their own, or together for a total of EIGHT unique hazard functions!

The SmartTap™  was designed and fully manufactured by Diode Dynamics, in St. Louis, Missouri. It is fully made in USA.

Why do you need this module? When your factory turn signal bulbs go out, your vehicle's flasher senses that less power is being used, and it will blink the turn signals quickly to alert you. When LED turn signal bulbs are installed, it lowers the load on the circuit too, because LEDs use less power. You get the fast blinking, known as "hyperblinking," even though the LEDs are functioning just fine. Basically, your car thinks the bulbs went out!

To slow down the blinking to regular speed, you can add resistors to increase the circuit's power consumption again. However, whenever possible, replacing the flasher with a module like this is the easiest option. This is the unit that actually controls the blinking speed, and makes the "clicking" noise.

  1. Awesome Product Review by James

After I put my LED turn signal bulbs in my car I got the hyper blink. I read up on it and bought a set of resistors, I was unaware that I have to mount the actual resistor to metal for each bulb. That all sounded like a huge pain in the ass to me, sure it would have been too. Then I found this little gem on Diode Dynamics, after watching a YouTube video on the install so I knew where to plug this bad boy in, my problem was fixed in 10 minutes. This made life so much easier and it works perfectly! (Posted on 3/10/17)

  2. Couldn't be easier, works perfectly! Review by Dave

Bought this to fix rapid flash from LED turn signals. It is exactly as Diode Dynamics describes it....Plug and Play means Plug and Play. Unplug existing flasher, plug in the DD flasher. When you activate the flasher, the initial ON is sustained for maybe 1 second, then the flash rate is normal...don't remember whether or not the factory relay did this. Clicking sound is audible as with a load-based flasher. Hazards work as normal. Very happy with this product, and customer service is great! Would definitely buy again. (Posted on 1/18/16)

  3. Used on 2005 Subaru outback 3.0r Review by Jon G

This is the only flasher module that I was able to find on the internet that will work with LEDs. The module is placed, at least for my car, on top of the 6 relays which are to the right of the fuses that are below the steering column. The module connector number is "B32" in the Subaru Service Manual for 2005. One has To take off the trim within the surrounding area in order to access the module itself which is not hard at all. I found it easier to detach the relay holder from the fuse holder because the flasher module is mounted on top and taking it off requires a screwdriver or something that can be wedged to release the clip. The blinking seems to be a little slow for me but at least it is not blink a million miles per hour as it did before. This may be due to the front bulbs are LED and the rears are OEM. It fixed the problem that the LED bulbs caused and allowed normal blinking operation. :P Exactly what I was looking for. Plug and play operation* (some assembly required at least with the vehicle components) lol. I am so happy with this. The old plug just connected right in. :D (Posted on 10/4/14)
